Henry Heerup (1907-1993) was a Danish painter, printmaker, and sculptor known for his unique style, which combines folklore, symbolism, and a naïve approach to form and color. Heerup’s art is characterized by humor, imagination, and a deep connection to everyday life. He worked with granite sculptures as well as paintings, and his works radiate a sense of joy and love for life. Heerup is one of Denmark’s most beloved artists and is represented in numerous museums, including the Heerup Museum in Rødovre.
